KIRUTHIKAI: Processions of Deity shall commence on all KIRUTHIKAI days.


VAIKASI :


Visakam nakshatra that commences in vaikasi month close to pournami or full moon day, the brahmotsav is celebrated with gusto and grandeur. It is celebrated for 11 both during the day and in the evening beginning with the lord’s awakening. On the 7th day, a wooden chariot with detailed sculptures is taken on a procession. On the 11th day there is Vidaiyatri Urchavam followed by festival for 10 days.


PURATTASI :

9 days of Navrathri with Amman’s special decoration, on Vijaya Dasami day there is parivettai urchavam and special procession


IYPASI :

Lord Muruga Killed Suran on the Shashti day of crescent during Iypasi month. Hence this day is called Kanda Shashti. Each year the day is celebrated in a big manner for ten days. Laksharchara will be conducted in the first six days and it will be concluded at the noon of the sixth day. The event of Sura Samhara will be recreated by the devotees in the evening of the sixth day. Seventh day will mark Subramanyar Thiru Kalyanam (Holy wedding of Lord Muruga). The Holy procession of Lord Muruga with Valli and Deyvaanai will take place. 8, 9 and 10th days of Kanda Shashti festival would witness the procession of the main deity (Swami Purappaadu).


MARGAZHI :

UDAL URCHAVAM (ARUDHRA DARSHAN) that commences on the 10th day of Thiruvadharai urchavam during following the Pournami in Margazhi monh.


PANGUNI :

Panguni Uthiram Lathcharchanai is conducted for 10 days. It is completed on the Panguni Uthram day which is then followed by departure of Vadapalani Andavar in the evening. This is followed by Deepam festival for 3 days


Besides the said festivals, during Kiruthikai, Lotf Murugan is run under special Abishekam, decoration and is taken on processions in the evenings. Adikiruthikai and Thai Poosam are celebrated with fervor.
